New rifle advice

Hey Guys.

So i have been bitten by the bug and am looking for my first gun. As my budget does not allow me in to the realms of Tokyo Mauri and the likes i am after some advice.

So far i have come across these. Is there any thing else around the $350-$400 mark?.

D-Boys M4

G&G CM16

Out of those two guns I'd go for the G&G one because I think it would shoot better out of the box. The D-Boys one is full metal and would be a better base if you wanted to swap out the externals. But I've never actually seen a D-Boys up close. I assume because they're one of the cheapest brands out there that they aren't too flash though.

Have a browse around http://wgcshop.com/ and http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/ and have a look at what else is out there. You might be able to find some of it on the facebook group Tradesoft.

There is also another group on FB called airsoft trading nz. I wouldn't buy off trade me unless you know who is selling it/ can view the gun first. My advice would be to link anything here first and get some opinions from others before you spend good $$ on a potential lemon.

Edit: best to join a club and try a few guns to see what platform suits you best.
And speaking from experience, it's way better to save your penny's and get something better, than to buy something cheap and be disappointed at the way it performs compared to everybody else. Gaming with a club is often quite inexpensive to rent a gun/bb's while you save for that awesome rifle that won't let you down.

What about something like this FAMAS TM

As much as I would actually love a FAMAS, because Metal Gear, they were Marui's very first electric gun. No doubt it'll shoot great but they're an old mechbox design and pretty creaky.

The best advice you will get it to come out for a few games, see what everyone's got, and just hire a gun for a wee while. It'll make your first gun purchase better informed and less likely to be a lemon.
