This is a Zombie themed survival airsoft event.
Saturday 15th November (Show Weekend!)
We are thrilled to have Unlimited airsoft supply the BBs for scenario.
Entry is $10, tickets are limited to 50, TAG players will have priority and pre-payment is highly encouraged.
Entry fee purchases a BBQ dinner, zombie mask, ammo and target gong
Our usual Sunday game will take place on the 16th and players can camp out at the field if they wish

Working Bee for TAG members (establish defences at FALCONWOOD)

Gear up
Briefing
Set up out of bounds/holding area for equipment
Team 1 – Rotate through as the survivors
Team 2 - Rotate through as the survivors
Team 3 – Rotate through as the survivors

EVENT BRIEFING:

1. GROUND

For this scenario we are using half of the field with the Northern boundary being the far side of the road, the Southern boundary being the fence line, the Eastern boundary being the P/Q grid line and the Western boundary being the C/D grid line.

2. SITUATION

  Code:
The year is 2028 and the Covid-19 virus has evolved into Covid-27G, this virus is highly communicable and is normally only fatal in the elderly, young and those with a compromised immune system. Upon receiving reports of attacks in hospitals and convalescent care facilities the Ministry of Health Tagistan discovered that after an incubation period of 24-72 hours the virus can reanimate dead cells causing the victim to “rise from the dead” albeit having lost many of their cognitive processes apart from the most basic of needs. Victims are sensitive to light and can become highly aggressive when illuminated, they have also been observed resorting to cannibalism of non-infected. They are nocturnal under normal conditions but will attack during the daytime if encountered. Non-infected who come into physical contact with large groups of the infected and are killed have been observed to reanimate almost immediately due to the high amount of Covid-27G infecting their system.  This led to some awkward situations in rest homes etc and was a major reason for Rymans stock plummeting.

Initial TAGDF/TAGPOL containment processes were fit for purpose with those recently deceased being cremated as soon as death was confirmed by a medical officer but unfortunately the cities rough sleepers, many of them already immune compromised where not located before reanimating and attacked the population further spreading the virus. Despite valiant efforts to contain the outbreak law and order has broken down and it has become everyone for themselves. 

Survivors can be identified by the carriage of weapons, use of tactical gear and clothing. Undead can be identified by their horrific looking appearance and disheveled state and a red cyalume hung around their neck.

Recently Reanimated can be identified by their horrific looking appearance, carriage of weapons, use of tactical gear and clothing and a red cyalume displayed.

3. MISSION:

Survivors: Your group of survivors has fled the city and established themselves near the Aerodrome in the hope of finding a means to escape. You are to locate a viable defensive structure for your group to shelter in and secure the surrounding area looting any supplies you find.

Undead: Your horde is to overwhelm and infect all survivors No Later Than 90 minutes after scenario start.

4. EXECUTION/SCENARIO RULES:

Standard Rules:
Remember that airsoft runs on an honour system, make sure you call hit even if you haven’t been observed.

Hit rules for the undead: To kill one of the reanimated you must hit them in the 7.5cm gong (to simulate the size of the medulla oblongata) hanging on their chest. All other hits will slow them and make them pause momentarily but not kill them. When killed one of the infected will raise their cyalume in the air and fallback 150m in the opposite direction to the contact and wait 2 minutes.

Survivor hit rules: If a survivor is “mobbed” by the undead and is unable to escape/fall back they will turn immediately, they are to place their mask on their head, hang their gong around their neck and display ensuring they maintain their eye protection. They may hip fire the remaining rounds in their weapon at any survivors but only in a manner that requires no fine motor skills.
If a survivor is touched with both hands by one of the undead they are deemed “infected” and must fall back to their teams Medic. The Medic can then apply “alcohol” to the infected area to cleanse the infection. The "alcohol" application rag should be thoroughly soaked in order to treat the infection. If the medic has exhausted the supply of “alcohol” the player who has been “infected” must move away 150m, wait 2 minutes and then return as one of the recently reanimated. If a survivor is hit by a BB by one of the recently reanimated they are to fall back 150m and become one of the recently reanimated.

Movement rules: As it is a night game players must move safely at all times, running through the trees screaming is highly discouraged. The undead and the recently reanimated are unable to move faster than a quick walk due to the degradation to their neural system. In general the undead are to move at no more than a shamble but if they see illumination or are shot at they can walk rapidly to close the distance.

5. SAFETY:

Eye Protection must be worn at all times.
Observe the minimum engagement distance for your weapon’s FPS.
No blind firing.
Watch your footing
In case of emergency/injury you are to blow 3 times on your whistle or call out HELP HELP HELP every 30-seconds until someone arrives.
If you need a time out or must leave during the game make someone aware of who you are and what you are doing, pull out your hit marker and make your way to the southern fence line, middle track or northern track and head back to the briefing area.

6. COMMUNICATION:

Radio Protocols:
Survivors will use Channel 25 Freq 477.025

7. SCENARIO START/END SIGNALS:

Start Signal: The game start will be signalled by a long whistle/horn blast and a verbal command over the radio.
Fifteen minutes signal: When the scenario is 15 minutes from ending 2 short sharp whistle/horn blasts will be given
End Signal: The game end will be signalled by a long whistle/horn blast and a verbal command over the radio.

8. EQUIPMENT:

Provided BB’s, speed loader, snacks and minimum 1 litre water.

Undead should wear clothing they are ok with being damaged due to the risk of a cyalume splitting on BB impact and destroying their clothing. For this reason the recently reanimated should not display their cyalume next to their target gong. Keeping with the theme of the event the rougher the clothing the better.

9. TIMINGS:
Gates open 1530
Working bee to prepare the Village will begin at 1600
Briefing will commence at 1930
Game will end at approximately 0200
