Sweet game today guys.

Nematode asked if I could post some airsoft GPS data on the forums last week. I don't have it from last game but I have it from today.

Here it is below. The total distance traveled today was 10,300m. Apparently I reached a maximum speed of 19.77kmph. Probably when I was sprinting through meanmarines sniper fire.


Also here is the ridiculous route I took when mouse made me get the flag after the first game. It seems I walked right through the clearing you guys were in but didn't see anyone and then proceeded to check the rest of the clearings. I think maybe because I was running I might have got there before everyone else did and kept looking.

Sorry about the bad resolution. It's just a screenshot from google earth.

Edit: The clearings are all messed up and out of place because the google earth photography for this area is about 2-3 years old I think.

What are you using to record that?

Im using a bicycle route tracking program that records your movement via free GPS on my iPhone. Any iPhone or Android phone is capable of doing this. Probably most GPS devices can do this. It saves it as a .kml file with your co-ordinates in it that you can email to yourself and open directly with google earth. It saves the time of each co-ordinate as well so I should be able to figure out a way to animate the route one day.

As for the age of the photo. I was using the Global Map Download tool and it said that the google earth satellite image tiles of that area were last updated in 2009. I don't know whether the figure i'm seeing is for the specific satellite which took the pictures we're seeing or for something else that I don't understand.

ehobby and eloutlet and other airsoft websites have them for around $10 and under $20 usd.
