Startup Kit

Hi guys,

So I'm looking to start getting my own stuff, starting with a pistol. I want an M9-style gun, but there's only this at the armory, which is CO2, and this and a silver one at asgc, and I'd prefer a black one. So what do you think of CO2? I've heard that it's cheaper and has more kick, but that green gas is more reliable.

Next I'm going for an SEG, either an AUG or a G36K. The armory has this G36K, but there's a bunch of cheaper ones starting at $150 USD at uncompany.com. Is it worth getting them from overseas?

The AUGs in NZ are significantly cheaper than the G36K in NZ. The A1 comes with an integrated scope, and the A2 without. How good are the scopes on all the guns, and can the A1 scope be easily replaced with the rail as on the A2?

Hey I have recently been tasked with selling a Tokyo Marui Glock 17 with 3 magazines. It has some airsoft surgeon reinforced gas nozzle thing in it and a metal slide too/

For 200 dollars it could be yours. However I won't have it for another 2 weeks.

I'm interested, if I don't have a pistol by the time you get that I'd love to have a look at it. Maybe the reinforced gas nozzle is to allow it to take propane? What does everyone think of tm's g17?

Re: Startup Kit

i have the custom one you can have a look at the only real thing you have to think about when buying them is upgrading the slider from the abs plastic too metal it can take propane straight from the box i prefer green gas which is lower work involved propane just fires harder than green gas

Re: Startup Kit

I am now tending more towards the AUG, does anyone have one I could try out? I'll be out this weekend if nothing comes up.

Are CA AUGs reliable enough as starter guns?
Can the A1's scope be replaced with a rail if I don't like the supplied scope?

Thanks for your help

Re: Startup Kit

Someone once told me to never ever buy a classic army gun. I can't remember who it was though. I'm very sorry to anyone who owns and love a CA weapon :P

I dont think anyone at tag uses a styer. Having said that, Acey probably has one as that guy has one of everything. To be honest; what you're after in a starter gun is reliability more than anything. If you don't wanna drop a lot of money on a TM or G&P or G&G weapon I'd suggest going after a CYMA AK or a Jing Gong G36. I hear they are very reliable as far as cheap SEG's go and they're compatible with most aftermarket parts too.

Also the glock I'm selling has an airsoft surgeon nozzle that is designed for some super high flow gas magazines or something. So it's not directing enough flow forward to the bb. I need to replace it with a TM or guarder nozzle and it will be going fine at around 320 fps on propane.
